20 minutes away from Pisa in the Hillsides of Tuscany is an old friend of my father's named Piero. They served in the Merchant Marines together, and they hadnt seen each other in 30 years. On the fly, we decided to see if he still lived where he used to. After a few questions at the tiny postoffice and a few wrong turns up small mountain roads, we had a very touching reunion between old teenage friends.The town is Santa Maria in Cincere.

Here they are with many hugs and kisses, meeting the family. They served us a wonderful coffee gelato that Caroline and Rich enjoyed.
